Music Theatre Classes
Studying the art of acting goes far beyond performing in plays. Acting is a necessary skill needed in order to excel in improv comedy, musical theatre, dance, stage combat, directing and much more. Teaching Artists at Adaire Theatre will help students master various techniques to allow students to embrace and embody their character so they can act convincingly on stage.
From character development and script analysis to physical warm-ups and breathing exercises, students who enroll in music theatre acting lessons will exhibit tremendous growth throughout their training.
The overall goal for Music Theatre acting classes is to teach the principles of theatre while instilling valuable life lessons and memories.
Music Theatre curriculum is specifically designed for youth located in and around the New River Valley.

Dance Classes
In order to become a well rounded triple threat, students need a solid dance education. To craft these abilities, we offer a variety of dance classes specialized for students who have an interest in or want to pursue a future in musical theatre.
Our classes of Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop and Musical Theatre will expose the students to the steps and techniques critical to success within the musical theatre community.
From beginners to advanced dancers, we have classes suited for every need. In addition to learning the steps and technique critical to dance, our students will also learn core values that will carry them through all walks of life: confidence, respect, creativity, communication, individualism and teamwork.
Dance Class Tuition:

Jazz
Jazz is a technique based class in which the students will learn the fundamentals. The students will be exposed to a variety of turns and jumps signature to this style of dance. These moves will compliment and crossover with movements and steps learned in musical theatre class.
Tap
Tap is essential to a musical theatre background. It is a rhythm based style of dance in which the students will learn to dance producing percussion sounds to accent the music.
Musical Theatre
Musical Theatre class will instill in dancers the wide variety of stylized movements and steps characteristic of golden aged musicals through present day broadway shows.
Hip-Hop
Hip-Hop is a variety of street dance styles that has evolved around the genre of hip-hop music. Students will learn a variety of movements that will teach them musicality and rhythm.
